Lieutenant Commander Sheltric Peterson (RET) is a distinguished 30-year Navy veteran, esteemed leadership mentor, and dynamic speaker. As the founder of Intent To Launch Leadership Institute, he equips emerging leaders with essential tools for success and work-life balance. As a certified coach, he is affiliated with the globally esteemed John Maxwell Leadership Team. His philanthropic spirit shines through "Peterseine's Place 19:23," a non-profit co-founded with his wife and High School Sweetheart, Montreal, to empower teen parents with resources and advocacy.
A Houston native, Sheltric's work ethic was honed from a young age in family businesses and various jobs, leading to a decorated military career. His service includes pivotal roles in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Desert Fox, Southern Watch responding to the September 11 attacks, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM. He served his final tour as the United States Navy, Senior Weapons Officer in Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Group, culminating in his retirement as a Lieutenant Commander.
Sheltric's post-military life is marked by community service, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden for his lifetime commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service. He actively participates as a member of the Salt and Pepper Gang, a collective group of distinguished gentlemen devoted to bridging gaps and positively influencing people in our communities. He also imparts wisdom as a mentor in the Lamar ISD, Galveston, Fort Bend, and Houston School Districts and at numerous colleges including Texas Southern University and Morehouse College in Atlanta. Sheltric serves as Board Chairman for the NAACP, Missouri Chapter, is a member of the Galveston Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, and serves as a Reverend at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church. His commitment to leadership and community exemplifies his dedication to inspiring and empowering the next generation.
